Malus Domestica 'Fuji'- Native Plant of Japan

Why Fuji Apple Tree?

Popularly known as the Japanese red apple tree, the Fuji Apple Tree is widely grown in many areas of the world for its delicious, juicy, and crispy red apples. These fruits are bursting with antioxidants and numerous vitamins.

The Fuji Apple Tree is best suitable for growing in hardiness zones 4 to 9 and is able to produce a large yield that usually ripens late in the season.

Whether the Malus Domestica ‘Fuji’ is grown for personal consumption or commercial selling, it needs moist and well-irrigated lands as it is not drought-tolerant. Apart from sufficient watering, the Fuji Apple Tree also needs at least six hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight exposure every day to maintain an annual growth rate of 13 to 24 inches to reach its fully matured height of 12 to 14 feet.

Since apples are consumed by a number of different animals and birds, the Fuji Apple Tree attracts migratory birds, honey bees, rodents, and small mammals. However, if the trees are left unattended for too long, the rodents and other mammals, such as rabbits, can destroy the tree by girdling its trunk.
